Oiled Otter Released

After lots of care and effort provided by staff from the California Department of Fish and Game and UC Santa Cruz, the otter known as “Olive” was released today!

The OWCN provided funding for a transmitter that was implanted by Dr. Mike Murray of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This transmitter will allow biologists to track her movements so we can learn more about the long-term effects of oil exposure and rehabilitation.
