OWCN activated in southern California

As if southern California does not have enough to deal with in terms of wild weather, today at 1800, the Oiled Wildlife Care Network was activated by OSPR to respond to a mystery oil spill at Huntington Beach.  Details are still spotty but oil has been seen in a channel leading out to the ocean.  A team of two responders from our network organization, Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center, will be heading out first thing in the morning with OSPR personnel to assist in any wildlife capture that is potentially needed.

As usual, sightings of oiled wildlife may be reported to our number:

(800) UCD-OWCN or (800) 823-6926

We will update this blog as more details come available.
