Training Updates

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to talk today about the changes we are making to our training program. We’ve had a lot of questions coming in about training, and hopefully this will clear things up. You can also view this information further in the network members section of our website. You can obtain login information to this area of the website, by contacting the volunteer coordinator at your member organization.

This year we will be continuing our live webinars, along with recordings of the webinars that can be viewed after the live event. However, this year we will keep the recorded webinars available for viewing throughout the year, rather than keeping them available only for a month, as we did previously. Although we encourage everyone to try to view the live webinar so they can ask questions to the presenter, we are hoping that making the recordings available year-round will allow more volunteers and staff the opportunity to view these webinars. Also, you can look forward to new topics this year with our second webinar (Recovery & Transportation Level 1 and Bird Field Stabilization) to be held in mid-May.

Next year we hope to transition from webinars, to online training modules. We plan on using Adobe Captivate to create online interactive presentations that will be available year-round and will allow everyone to work at their own pace. Look for more information later this year as we make the move to this new form of online training.

Again, please log in to the network members section of our website to read more about changes to our online trainings, as well as trainings updates and new schedules for HAZWOPER and Recovery & Transportation.
