Sea Otter Awareness Week is September 22-28th, so there is still time to take advantage of some of the great educational opportunities here in California. The California Academy of Sciences, the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Estuary Nature Center at Morro Bay, SeaWorld San Diego, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Long Marine Lab, USGS Menlo Park campus, Aquarium of the Pacific, and The Marine Mammal Center will all have special events to commemorate the week. These vary from exhibits of sea otter anatomy and educational talks to watching captive otters playing with enrichment items.
Check out the Sea Otter Awareness Week website for more information, times and dates of events outside of California, and some great photos! http://www.seaotterweek.org/
